At Gram Chetna Our mission is to mobilise and organise citizens and enable them to be hyperlocal leaders around the interconnected crisis of our time,
so that as solvers, entrepreneurs, and public leaders, they can build and reimagine rural institutions and solve the pressing challenges rural India is facing today—such as the climate crisis, agrarian distress, forced migration, economic inequality, and polarisation—while ensuring community leadership, participation, and ownership in rural institutions.

Gram chetna works

Gram Chetna Andolan exists to reimagine communities and revitalise their community and constitutional institutions in response to deepening social and ecological crises. As a collective of problem solvers, entrepreneurs, and public leaders, the organisation is building a movement of locally rooted change-makers. It nurtures crisis-sensitive, hyperlocal leadership through community dialogue, the revival of local knowledge systems, and constructive action.

We Mobilised and organised Citizens and trained them to be hyperlocal leaders so that as volunteers, entrepreneurs and public leader – they can reimagine rural institutions and solve the pressing crises rural India is facing right now like climate crisis, agrarian distress, forced migration, economic inequality and polarisation.

Mobilising

through hyperlocal and contextual community dialogue campaigns and activating Gram-Sabha.

Organising

through village level youth and women active citizen clubs processes focused on empowerment and participation.

Training

through learning by doing bootcamp facilitated by local practitioners & informed by local wisdom.

Emerging leaders curate & Organise local solution and practice regular Individual and collective action.
